MYSTERY AND CASTLES
Dear Diary,
Jasper and I spent the entire night together locked up in our little broom closet of a room so that I could be refreshed to talk to Jordan in the morning. Well, Now I am ready to apologize to her. I wasn’t completely wrong saying those things, but I guess the way I said them didn’t seem right.
I let Jasper pick out my outfit since I was nervous, He picked a beautiful blue blouse with ruffles by the collar and black dress pants. I did my hair, put on some make up and chose silver high heels. Jasper went with casual today, he decided to wear khaki shorts and a navy colored polo with his hair all curly and boat shoes.
I grabbed my wedding stuff and marched downstairs. Jordan was talking about babies with Faine.
“Hi.” I said.
“Good morning, Alice.” Faine smiled.
Jordan didn’t say anything yet.
“So, Jordan,” I pulled up a chair and sat, “I wasn’t sure if I was still your wedding planner or not, but I thought of some ideas for your wedding. I was thinking that maybe we could sort of re-create the night that Josh proposed to you just on a grander scale.”
Jordan stared at me for a couple of minutes.
GGGGrrrr! I don’t work well under pressure! I started fidgeting a little bit, and it got worse when Edward walked into the room. Jordan glared at him for a second but all he did after that was sit down on the couch next to Jasper. Bella followed in soon and all seemed to be working nicely.
“Where were you thinking of having my wedding?” Jordan finally asked.
I jumped out of chair and gave her a huge hug! I was so glad that she was still letting me plan the wedding and that we were still friends!
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!” I squeezed her real tight.
“Oh, Alice.” She grumbled.
“Right, sorry.” I said as I backed into my seat again, “Well, I was thinking somewhere tropical so we could get a waterfall just like when Josh proposed, but, I don’t know. Tropical seems so-” I was searching for the right word.
“Like it won’t fit in with the rest of your plan?” Jordan asked.
“Yes! Exactly! I was thinking about just having it here in Ireland as well. I need to do some sight seeing first to find the perfect place. Would you want to come along and help me find one? Or would you rather be surprised?”
Jordan and Faine exchanged a look.
“Faine, Josh and I wanted to look at churches today. Would you like to come with us then? Or shall I leave the reception hall to you?”
“I think Jasper and I can handle the reception place, right babe?” I asked Jasper.
“Absolutely!” He said.
“Alright, great-”
“I have your theme all picked out! And I also have a lot of ideas buzzing in my mind. Oh! Don’t look at them, Jordan, I want it to be a surprise!”
Jordan laughed but then agreed she wouldn’t look.
“But then how will you know that Jordan will like it?” Faine asks.
“Because I saw her wedding day and my ideas,” Jordan looked at me expectantly, “and you love it!” I say to her.
Jordan is about to say something to me when my phone rings. I Look at the caller ID, it’s Tanya. Hmmm I haven’t talked to her in a while.
“Excuse me, please. I will be right back.” I walk out the door and open the phone.
“Hello? Alice speaking.” I say into the phone as I run away from the cottage. I don’t like people listening on my conversation.
“Hey, Alice. It’s Tanya. How are you, darling?” She says on the other line.
“Oh, Tanya! I’m just fine! And you? And how is your sister?”
“I’m fine as well and Kate is infatuated with her new friend Garret.”
“Oh, yes, yes. I remember them being an item before you left Forks last time. How is the rest of the clan?”
“Well why don’t you come see for yourself?” She asks, “We already have Carlisle here and we would love to see you and your brother as well!”
“Tanya, I am so sorry, but we can’t. My husband and Edward and Bella are in Ireland with me planning a wedding and helping out some new vegetarians.”
She sighed on the other end, “Alice, you are forever good helping out strangers!”
I laughed, “ I saw them in a vision and knew they were important, and so they are! Oh, Tanya, you don’t even know yet! They killed the Volturri!”

Tanya was silent for a while, “Wh-what? Are you sure, hunny?”
“Yes! Well, they killed Aro and Caius and destroyed Jane’s soul. But yes!”
“What about Marcus? And their guards?”
“Somehow they brought Didyme back from the dead and reunited her with Marcus. And Alec, Felix and Demetri wanted to leave the Volturi.” Telling the story got me so excited.
“Alice, don’t trust them.” Tanya’s tone was very heavy and serious.
“But-”
“Tell Edward to come visit me! I’m lonely, and he and Carlisle tell the best stories!” Then she hung up.
I shrugged and ran back into the kitchen with everybody where they were when I left, with the exception of the boys who emerged from the man cave.
“Who was it, Alice?” Jasper asked me.
“Oh, it was Tanya! She misses you both,” Bella got a small jealous look, “she told us we should go visit her since Carlisle is also there.” I smiled.
But my smile faded when worry crossed Edward’s face.
“What is it, Edward?” Bella asked.
“Alice, I just spoke with Carlisle.”
“And? Is he having a good time with the Denali’s?”
“Alice, he isn’t in Alaska. He’s home with Esme watching Renesme.” Edward said.
My smile turned upside down.
“But? Then- how?” I was so confused!
I saw Jordan and Faine exchange a wild look with each other and then with the boys.
I realized that they were trying to block their minds. But Edward was too fast for them.
“Gabriel? Who is Gabriel?” He asks.
Faine had her eyes shut tightly and she had this look like he was supposed to be a secret. I looked to Jordan and she kind of had this sad smile on.
"Well?" Edward said.
Still, no one said anything, not even the boys.
"Tell me who this Gabriel is, now!" Edward demanded, "I have a right to know who he is. He is living with our family! He could be a threat!"
"No," Jordan spoke.
"And why do our friends think they are with Carlisle when he is really with the rest of my family?" Edward ignored Jordan.
Oh god! I hope we don't have another repeat fight like yesterday! I have a feeling that our whole visit is going to be like that.
I let out a sigh and said calmly, "Brother, sit down. I will ask the questions and get the answers easier than you will."
He looked ready to argue with me but I sent him a spine tingling glare. After all, this is my job and I love being here to help Jordan!
"Who is this Gabriel my brother speaks of?" I nicely asked.
"He's the one who might or might not be at my wedding." Jordan said but I noticed that everybody ignored her.
Before I could respond to Jordan, I heard, "He is many people." Faine sighed.
"How do you mean? What was the secret you wanted to keep? Yes, I saw that, Faine, you got so tense and you all tried to hide your thoughts from Edward." My wise husband said.
"Well, sometimes you can't be sure who is who or if Gabriel is them." Faine explained. She was making this too much of a puzzle! I don't know if she meant to sound like that if she was still trying to keep the secret or what.
"Oh my god, just tell us what his power is already!" Edward exploded.
I put my head in my hands and breathed. Edward is driving me back to insanity!!! It's like the 1900s all over again!
"Go ahead, Faine." The boys mumbled.
"Gabriel can change form." We gave blank stairs, "He is a shape shifter." Faine said at last.
Finally! A clear answer!
"Impossible," Jasper said in his thick southern accent. He usually tries to keep it down but he's been letting it come out thicker lately.
"Oh, it's possible." Demetri started, "without him, I think, it would have been a bit more difficult to bring down the Volturri."
A few of them mumbled their agreement.
"After all, how else could we have gotten rid of Jane?" Alec said.
Boy! He really did hate her! I mean, Jane was a horrible person but she must have been something else for her own brother to despise her so!
"What's his story?" Jasper asked. He always was the curious one.
They all exchanged looks. No one said anything.
"No one really knows." Jordan shrugged.
I swear, sometimes she seems just like a little kid, in a good way.
"That's not a good explanation of his story." Jasper chuckled.
"Well, it's all we got. When he left, all he said was he plans to be done in six months and come live with us."
"'Be done with' what in six months?" Edward questioned.
"We don't know exactly but when he left he took a lot of guns and stuff so I think he wanted to kill somebody." Jordan shrugged again.
"Do we have to be worried with him being with our friends?" I asked.
"No!" Jordan shouts, "He's edgy but he wouldn't seriously hurt someone unless he had a really good reason." Josh put his hand on Jordan's shoulder.
I nodded.
Jasper put his hand on my knee and I placed my hand on his, "So what do you think we should do about this, Baby?" He asks gently.
Jordan and Faine were looking at me expectantly, they must believe he is truly good otherwise they wouldn't care about him.
"We'll let him be for now. But I'll be watching and if I see something that I don't like, we will have to take care of it."
"Alice, can you see if Gabriel is coming back? Or what he is doing?" Jordan asked me.
"Do you have something of his?" I popped up.
She shook her head, "I don't know him and if I don't know a person then I can't just look for their future."
"Oh"
"But I'll watch for our friends and see where he goes and I will let you know."
"Thank you, oh thank you, Alice!" Jordan jumped up and hugged me.
She took Faine and Josh and left to go look at possible churches for her wedding.
I smiled. I was making her really happy. So I grabbed Jasper's hand and walked toward the door.

"Wait, Alice, you aren't taking me and Edward with you?" Bella asked.
I laughed, "Of course not! You two don't have mine and Jordan's excellent taste!"
"Oh, and the beast does?" Edward says referring to Jasper.
Jasper snarls back at Edward, "Yeah but I know what my lady likes." All the sudden he shuts the door and we race to the car to see who drives. Unfortunately, Jasper won. Ugh! He doesn't go fast enough for my taste!
So we spent the rest of the afternoon looking for reception halls since Jordan, Josh and Faine had the church covered. I was specifically looking for a castle to buy out. The newer and bigger the better! But if I couldn't find something that new I would settle for old-ish, after all, with my outstanding abilities I should be able to make it like like a shiny new toy! At the last place we went to visit, I knew I had found the right one. It was big and new! And the front was line with a crystal clear pool and dozens of fountains spewing water. My mouth hung open and Jasper asked me if I wanted to tour the inside. I nodded and we walked up the granite stairs. We found a tour guide and he unlocked the giant double doors for us. Jasper held out his hand and I took it, he escorted me inside where there was a giant balcony with a grand double staircase. I ran down one side and he down the other side. At the end of each stair set was a beautiful stand with flowers. And the rest of the room held mirrors and a few scattered velvet chairs with a large mosaic on the floor. I twirled through the room and opened another set of doors. A grand wide open room. I ran to the center and turned around. Jasper was looking at me, "what? Have I got something on my dress?" I look down to wipe it off but nothing is there.
I look back at Jasper, "Jasper Hale, why are you staring at me?" I screech.
"It's like I'm seeing you again for the first time." He smiles crookedly.
I look down to indicate that I would blush if I could.
"Is that a bad thing, soldier?" I look straight up at him as he appears in front of me.
"No ma'am not at all," and just like a real gentleman, he bows, "May I have this dance?" He has his hand palm up.
With a flick of my wrist I have it resting perfectly in his palm. Gently, slowly, he pulls me to his body and puts his free hand on my waist. Jasper pulls me into a waltz all about the room.
"Jasper, there's no music." I say.
"You are the music." He smiles.
He laces our fingers together and I rest my head against his chest. This continues for a while. Eventually he stops and we just stand there holding each other. Like waking up from a dream, we slowly let go of each other. I stare into Jasper's eyes and he into mine. I see a whole other world with just me and him I see him as my world because he is. When I'm not with him, it feels like I'm drowning, and when I am...its like flying! Jasper doesn't have to use his ability on me to make me feel overwhelmed with love. I feel that just by being with him.
As we walk out of the room he puts his arm around me, "so what do you say, Alice? Have we found Jordan's reception hall?"
"I just have to check one more thing." I run at a human pace to the back of the castle and push open the ceiling high double doors. Jasper follows me out onto the patio and I lean on the railing.
"Yes. Yes we have." I smile as I gaze out at the large outstretched garden WITH a crystal clear waterfall bubbling water at the bottom.
Jasper comes behind me and puts his arms around my stomach. And his chin on my shoulder.
Ideas of twinkling lights and glitter filled my imagination but soon Jasper was pulling me toward the door. With one last glance at the garden and the main hall the tour guide was locking the door shut behind us. Jasper and I got into our car and drove back towards the house in Kerry. We wound our way up the long drive and pulled into the driveway bringing the car to a stop. We got out of the car and the first thing I noticed was that everyone was standing outside and then we noticed the screaming.
